Members from various teams show their delight with the tournament, held for the first time in Eleuthera.

The Eleuthera Dart Association, headed up by president, Danny Culmer, and vice president, Dwight Pinder, hosted – for the first time ever – the Bahamas Dart Gold Cup Tournament here in Eleuthera.  The action which began on Friday evening, February 8th, at the Resource Center in Savannah Sound, saw the visiting team from Abaco emerge as the overall tournament winners for 2013.

Three teams, consisting of the top players in the country, from Abaco, Grand Bahama and New Providence joined the local Eleuthera Dart Association in a fierce two days of competition.

After the Friday evening openers, play continued on Saturday, February 9th with a break in the late afternoon before resuming.  Intense evening competition continued right on up until almost midnight.

New Providence walked away as winners in the team event with 49 points, while Abaco racked up 38 points, followed by Grand Bahama with 29 and the Eleuthera team with16 points.

As the overall Gold Cup Tournament winners, Abaco amassed 207 points, while in second place, New Providence tallied at 160.  In third place was Grand Bahama with 110 points overall, and Eleuthera placed fourth, finishing with 85 points.

Tournament MVP’s were superstar husband and wife duo, Robin Albury (Male MVP) and Lakeisha Albury (Female MVP) from Abaco, who also won in the male and female, singles division games.  See more/Further results are provided below:
