Police on Thursday released a report on a fatal traffic accident in Grand Bahama on Wednesday February 6th at about 7:40pm.  According to the report, while conducting a traffic stop police saw a grey 1993 Mercury Tracer which was suspected to be stolen and they attempted to stop this vehicle. The driver of this vehicle attempted to elude the police and upon doing so collided into a black Nissan Altima which was travelling west on Grenfell Avenue and at the same time struck a male cyclist who was on the southern side of Grenfell Avenue.

The occupant of the Mercury Tracer was able to escape.

EMS personnel were called to the scene and the male cyclist,  and the driver and passenger of the Black Nissan Altima were all transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital.

On Thursday 7th February 2013 around 2:30am, the male cyclist succumbed to his injuries. The  two passengers are listed in stable condition at the Rand Memorial
Hospital.

This is Grand Bahama third traffic fatality for the year 2013.
