(Eleuthera,Bahamas) – The Ministry of Tourism teamed up once again this year with the organizers of the Bannerman Town Homecoming, to host the first of three Junkanoo Summer Festival events held in Eleuthera, during summer 2016. Nassauvian entertainer Hubert G., along with the Rum Runners live band were all part of the down home entertainment on the Saturday night, July 23rd in Bannerman Town. The pulsating rhythm of Junkanoo groups out of Rock Sound and Hatchet Bay, were also part of the sights and sounds of the evening, as they clashed in head to head competition for the best Banner. Local vendors with delicious food, beautiful crafts and jewelry, and fun activities, all added to the cultural affair. Junkanoo Summer Festivals continue in Eleuthera on Saturday, August 20th in Governor’s Harbour, and on Saturday, August 27th in James’ Cistern.
