Coral Harbour Base 11 April 2016 (RBDF) – The Royal Bahamas Defence Force working along with members of the Police and Immigration apprehended four of the five Cubans who had escaped from the Detention Center on Saturday 9 April, 2016. The Cubans were found in a dilapidated villa near the waterside in the area of the South Ocean Hotel on the south side of New Providence around 12:30 today. An investigation into circumstances related to the escape of the Cuban nationals is currently underway.

(New Providence, Bahamas) – The Department of Immigration wishes to inform the general public that five (5) Cuban nationals escaped from The Bahamas Immigration Detention Centre, Carmichael Road.
The Cuban nationals: Yasmani Rojas Marrero, Arsenio Morales Perez, Amaury/Amaurles Perez Vega, Raudel Daniel Oranzabal Reyes and Alexander Gonzales Gonzales escaped from the Centre arount 10:00pm on Saturday 9 April, 2016.
Every effort is being made to recapture the escapees.
