The Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) of the Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF) are actively investigating the discovery of two kilos of cocaine found washed up on north coast beaches in Central Eleuthera.
According to sources, around midday on Tuesday, October 27th, 2015, visitors stumbled upon a packaged kilo of the drug while walking on a north side beach near James’ Cistern.
Later that same day, at about 4pm, an additional kilo of cocaine was turned into the Governor’s Harbour police station by another set of tourists who had been on the north side beach near the former Naval Base.
The authorities are currently in possession of both packages and searches are ongoing in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU).
