At about 11:20am on Monday morning, March 24th, 2014, an employee of a Gaming Business on Harbour Island, left the establishment to go to the bank to make a deposit.

Reportedly, as he entered his vehicle, he was accosted by two men, both masked, who sat waiting in the employee’s vehicle, which had been left unlocked.  The men were armed with an object (which was not identified), which they used to assault the employee, and hold him at bay.

The men then made away with the deposit bag, which held an undetermined amount of cash, and escaped on foot.

At the time of publication, Police in Harbour Island did not have any suspects in custody, and termed the incident as being under active investigation.

This incident is the second Armed Robbery reported in The Eleutheras this month.

On Saturday 15th March 2014 at about 11:21pm a resident of Palmetto Point contacted the Governors Harbour Police Station via telephone and reported that a business located on Queen’s Highway, Palmetto Point was being robbed and requested police assistance.

The owner of the service station reported that at about 11:15pm on Saturday, 15th March 2014 he had just closed up his business and was about to get into his car when he saw a brown skinned male about 5ft 9in tall of medium build and weighing about 180 – 204 lbs running towards him wearing a mask and dark clothing carrying a handgun which he cranked and told him “give me your stuff” at which time he threw him a brown wooden cigar box containing cash and the keys for the business. The culprit picked the box up and ran into nearby bushes. The matter is currently under active investigation.
