(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – Thirty seven (37) Sunday School teachers from Methodist Churches throughout Eleuthera were honoured on Sunday, February 9th, 2014, by the Bahamas Conference of the Methodist Church (BCMC), during a service of recognition held at the James’ Cistern Methodist Church.
During the 3pm service, which saw churches and teachers from the North Eleuthera, Central Eleuthera and South Eleuthera Regions represented, Sunday School teachers were presented with certificates of appreciation.
Special recognition was given to an exceptional group of Sunday School teachers who had served for 40 years and more, including;
Janette Cates of Rock Sound Methodist (40 years),
Audrey Culmer of Tarpum Bay Methodist (44 years),
Rosetta Gibson of Wesley Methodist Savannah Sound (40 years),
Gretel Louise Sands of Wesley Methodist Palmetto Point (40 years),
Emily Petty of Wesley Methodist Governor’s Harbour (40 years),
Rosemary Thompson of Wesley Methodist James’ Cistern (50 years),
Rowena Elden of Current Methodist (60 years),
Reswell N. Prince Mather of Wesley Methodist Harbour Island (53 years),
Luther Kemp of Zion Methodist Current Island (52 years),
and Osbourne Weech of Current Methodist (45 years).
