Police in Eleuthera have taken into custody, a 50 year old man for questioning in reference to suspected lewd acts committed against a 5-year-old child. The Eleutheran has learned that at about 2pm on Sunday October 6th, 2013, authorities received reports that the 5-year-old girl had been taken to the clinic in Rock Sound by a parent with injuries consistent with lewd acts having been committed against her. The child was examined and subsequently referred to New Providence for further treatment.
The man in custody, is believed to be a relative of the child and expectations are that he will be transported to New Providence for further investigations.
