Prefects at Central Eleuthera High School led assembly on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2013 as the new school year got into full swing.

Public high schools across Eleuthera commenced with their full complement of students this Tuesday morning, September 3, 2013, on the heels of a Monday of orientation for new and beginning junior and senior high students. Students’ successes, new teachers, new subjects, school rules, and more, were topics of assemblies throughout the island.

At Central Eleuthera High School (CEHS) their new group of school prefects conducted the first day assembly, with the theme ‘Positive attitudes’.Following the assembly service the prefects were formally introduced to the student body, and Principal Galanis, who has been at the helm of CEHS since 2011 introduced her staff, new and returning.  She introduced a watch phrase to the students for the 2013/2014 year – ‘Carpe Diem’, meaning ‘Seize the Day’ – encouraging them to make the most of every moment and every opportunity they have during the upcoming year.
