(Nassau, Bahamas) – A 42 year old male and a 41 year old female are in hospital after attempting to extinguish a boat engine fire. The incident reportedly occurred around 3:00 pm on Friday 14th June, 2013 in waters north of Nassau. Preliminary reports indicate that four (4) people, three (3) males and a female were en route to Abaco, on board a white 33 ft Cabin Cruiser, 14 miles northwest of the island of New Providence when the incident occurred. Officers of the Harbour Patrol Unit were notified of the incident around 6:40 am on Saturday 15th June, 2013 and subsequently rescued the injured, who reportedly received first and second degree burns. The other two (2) people were unharmed during the incident and were rescued by a team from BASRA. Active police investigations continue.

**MAN INJURED DURING HOUSE-FIRE**
A 36 year old man of Carmichael Road is detained in hospital after fire destroyed his single storey wooden home off Carmichael Road. The incident reportedly occurred around 10:25 pm on Friday 14th June, 2013 at Unison Road.

The victim received burns to both legs and his right arm and was taken to hospital where he is detained in serious condition. Active police investigations continue.
