The Eleuthera..all that Jazz Committee and the Board of Trustees of the Haynes Library wish to thank The Levy Preserve for providing the venue for our Saturday night Concert! Their generosity has made the first annual ‘Eleuthera All That Jazz’ concert possible.

What could be better, after spending the day on one of Eleuthera’s many beautiful beaches, than enjoying wonderful jazz while sitting in the extraordinary gardens of the Levy Preserve? The proceeds from Eleuthera All That Jazz directly benefits the Haynes Library. Moreover, the Festival brings visitors to the island and show cases the depth of Bahamian musical talent, one of our best kept secrets, while providing an opportunity for Bahamian and International musicians to meet, play together and exchange ideas.

The Haynes Library is without doubt one of the most charming libraries in the world! Built in 1879 right on the harbour overlooking the turquoise waters of the bay. It evokes the days when people enjoyed a slower pace of life, from a day when reading and contemplation were valued. Today many libraries are closing their doors but not Haynes Library which serves the community in and around Governor’s Harbour in a vital way by providing essential help with homework and school projects, it hosts social gatherings, lectures and summer camps for children of all ages alongside the usual functions of a library, to house and supply books! In line with the modern world, the upstairs is dedicated to computers and allows Internet access to residents and visitors alike.

Eleuthera is such a beautifully unspoiled island that particularly appeals to the visitor looking for peace and quiet away from the casinos, large hotels and crowded beaches preferred by so many others.

Our headliner for this year has the fabulous singer Antoinette Montague accompanied by the Sam Parker Trio from Connecticut. They are giving their time and considerable talent free of charge, for the love of Jazz, music and cultural exchange!

They will perform alongside some of the very best Bahamian jazz musicians including the brilliant Ralph Munnings , Clinton Crawford on keyboard, Kevin Dean on drums and the two talented vocalist Naomi Taylor and young Osano Neely. We will be introducing the very young Taylor brothers, only 10 and 11 years old. What amazing little musicians they are!

On Saturday morning there will be a Master Class, given by Antoinette Montague at St Patrick’s Parish Hall near the Haynes Library in Governor’s Harbour for the more proficient singers who wish to attend. The ‘Children’s Musical Hour’ will replace the usual afternoon classes, hosted by some of the Bahamian Musicians.

For further information, please contact the Haynes Library 1-242-332-2877.

Special thanks go to Scotia Bank, One Eleuthera and the law firm of Pyfrom, Holowesko and Fletcher who’s cash contributions have helped fund expenses.

Bacardi and Bristol Wine will be supplying us with a Mojito bar on Friday and Saturday, as well as other Bacardi products. American Airlines has generously provided the tickets for our headliner Antoinette Montague and Sam Parker and his Trio to fly down from New York to be with us.

Liquid Courage are providing some lovely light Provence wines for the Sunday Brunch Concert. As well as some very generous individuals whose sponsorship is making this happen!

We thank you one and all!
