(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – The Rotary of Club of Eleuthera (RCE) decided to reach out to the School for Exceptional Learners, as one of their ‘charities’ for the Rotary year 2012/13. The club was able to obtain a ‘wish list’ from the school laying out their immediate needs.

As a result a ‘Back to School’ drive was promoted among Rotarians, where the goal was not only to provide school supplies, but also to furnish the items on their wish list.

A contingent of Rotarians visited the school on the 4th of September, to present the contributions to them.

During this time, they were able to intermingle with the ‘special’ students. Rotarians also prepared lunch for the kids on site, which was described as a very rewarding experience to sit, dine and chat with the young students.

According to RCE president, Ms. Jacquie Gibson, out reach to the School for Exceptional Learners will be an ongoing initiative for the Rotary Club of Eleuthera.
