(Nassau, Bahamas) – Police are asking the public for any information they may have on several, separate armed robberies that took place late Saturday and early Sunday morning. The first incident reportedly occurred shortly before 3:00pm on Saturday 11th August 2012. Initial police reports indicates that the victim was sitting in a vehicle located in Stapleton Gardens, when he was approached by three males in a silver Honda vehicle SD244 armed with a handgun, who robbed him of jewelry. The men then sped off.
The second incident reportedly occurred shortly after 4:00pm on Saturday 11th August 2012. According to police the victim was standing in front of San Tee on Shirley Street when he was approached by two men clad in white t-shirts and blue in jeans pants. The two men who were armed with a handgun robbed the victim of cash and jewelry then fled on foot.
The third incident reportedly occurred shortly after 8:00pm on Saturday 11th August 2012. The victim reported to police that while on his boat moored at the Sea Breeze Canal, he was approached by two (2) male suspects armed with a handgun, who robbed him of jewelry and cash. The men then fled the scene in a black Chevy blazer.
The final incident reportedly occurred shortly after 3:00am on Sunday 12th August 2012. The victim reported that while in the West Bay Street area, he was robbed of his green 2004 Honda Acura TL vehicle license number unknown by the occupants of a Toyota Tercell who were armed with a cutlass.
Police wish to ensure residents that they have stepped up efforts to prevent this and other incidents, and will seek to arrest the person or persons responsible.
Finally police are asking residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious peopleor vehicles seen in their surroundings by immediately calling 9-1-9 or 328-tips.
