POLICE IDENTIFY MURDER VICTIM
On Wednesday 8th August 2012 a shooting incident occurred in the area of East Street and Coconut Grove Avenue, which resulted in the death of a male.  Police have identified the victim as 29 year old RAYMON REGINALD THOMPSON of WELLINGTON STREET off MARKET STREET.  Initial police reports indicate that the victim was standing in front of a residence when he was approached by a male suspect and subsequently shot multiple times.  Police are questioning a male in his early twenties in connection with this incident.  Active police investigations continue.

 

POLICE INVESTIGATES A STABBING INCIDENT
Police are investigating a stabbing incident, which has left a 20 year old male of Montrose Avenue, detained in hospital in serious but stable condition.  According to police reports, on Thursday 9th August 2012, shortly after 9:00pm, the victim was at a basketball court on Lincoln Boulevard near Cordeaux Avenue, when he was attacked and stabbed to the head by an unknown male.  Police investigation continues.

  
CENTRAL DIVISION CONDUCT OPERATION

In keeping with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan 2012 priority one (1) which speaks to Tackling Crime and priority number four (4) which speaks to Enforcing the Rules of the Road, Central Division officers led by Superintendent Aston Greenslade conducted operation “Take Back Our Streets”.
The operation was conducted between 3:00pm and 7:00pm on Thursday 9TH August 2012 and resulted in twenty-three (23) drivers being cited for various traffic infractions and a twenty-nine (29) year old male being arrested for an outstanding warrant of arrest.
