(Nassau, Bahamas) – A 33 year old female of Cox Way is dead after being shot by a 22 year old man who subsequently shot himself. According to police reports around 12:30 am on Friday 13th July, 2012 police received information that a female was shot at Cox Way off East Street. Police responded and on arrival was confronted by the 22 year old who opened fire on the police resulting in three (3) officers being shot.
The officers were taken to hospital where they were treated and discharged. The female was also taken to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Additional officers responded and upon entering the home discovered the male with a gunshot injury to the head. Police also recovered a shotgun from the deceased. Active police investigations continue.
