A man caught on surveillance camera will spend four years in prison at Her Majesty’s Prison in New Providence. It was approximately 11:30am on Friday 29th June, 2012, when the search for a man wanted in relation to two reports of house breaking and stealing ended when a 51 year old male was arrested by officers from the Eastern Division (Lucaya Police Station).

William Smith DOB 22nd October, 1960 of Churchill Drive was arraigned in Magistrate’s Court No.2 before Magistrate Andrew Forbes in Freeport on two counts of house breaking and three counts of stealing. He pled ‘guilty’ to the charges and was convicted and sentenced to four years imprisonment at Her Majesty’s Prison.

This arraignment is in relation to three complaints made by a resident of the Midshipman Road area between 10th May and 29th June, 2012. The success was the result of a joint effort between members of the Grand Bahama Community, the media and the quick response of the officers at the Lucaya Police Station, coupled with their investigative skills in the recovery of exhibits and other evidence.
