**POLICE REQUEST PUBLIC’S HELP IN LOCATING SUSPECT**
Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating 17 year old MICHAEL DEFREND of EAST STREET SOUTH. Defraud reportedly escaped lawful custody around 3:30 am on Thursday 28th June, 2012 while being detained at the Princess Margaret Hospital. **CENTRAL DIVISION ARREST MEN DURING OPERATION**
In three (3) separate incidents, officers of the Central Division took nine (9) men into custody during an operation held between the hours of 4:00 pm and 12:00 am on Wednesday 27th June, 2012. In the first incident around 6:55 pm officers acting on information went to a property at Spence Street, Mason’s Addition where they discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana along with two (2) Marijuana plants. Three (3) males, two age 42 years and a 29 year old were arrested.
In the second incident around 7:45 pm officers of the Central Division arrested three (3) men, ages 49, 36 and 25 years after discovering a large amount of Marijuana plants on their property at Fox Hill. In the third incident around 8:30 pm Central officers arrested three (3) males, ages 53, 33 and 29 year after executing a search warrant on their home at Augusta Street and discovering a quantity of marijuana. Active police investigations continue.
**POLICE UNCOVERED LARGE AMOUNT OF AMMUNITION**
Police uncovered over 80 rounds of assorted ammunition in bushes at Taiga Avenue off Sea Breeze Lane. Preliminary reports indicate that around 3:30 pm on Wednesday 27th June, 2012 police acting on information went to the area where they uncovered the items. No arrests were made. Active police investigations continue.
**SOUTHWESTERN POLICE CONDUCTS OPERATION**
In keeping with the Commissioner of Police 2012 policing plan officers of the Southwestern Division conducted operation, “CLAMP DOWN”.
The operation was conducted between the hours of and 4:00 pm and 12:00 am on Wednesday 27th June, 2012 and resulted in two (2) men, ages 52 and 18 years being arrested for possession of dangerous drugs. Additionally, the 52 year male was arrested for possession of an imitation firearm. Active police investigations continue.
**EXUMA POLICE CITES 31 DRIVERS**
In keeping with the Commissioner of Police 2012 policing plan, Enforcing the Rules of the Road, officers of the Exuma district conducted operation “Pressure Point” at George Town, Exuma. The road checks were conducted on Wednesday 27th June, 2012 between the hours of 7:00 am and 9:00 am on Queens Highway in the area of Ramsey, Exuma and resulted in thirty-one (31) persons being cited for various traffic infractions. Seventeen (17) persons were cited for the offence of speeding contrary to Section 43 of Chapter 220 which carries a fine of $100.00. Five (5) people were cited for driving without a valid drivers license contrary to Section 34(1) of chapter 220 and six (6) people cited for driving while not having their seat belts fasten, contrary to Section 42 (c)(1) of the Road Traffic Act Chapter 220. One (1) person was cited for driving with passengers not seated within the body of the vehicle contrary to Regulation 27(1)(5) & (31) of the Road Traffic Regulation of Chapter 220, also one (1) person for Driving a vehicle while not being properly licensed contrary to Section (26) of the Road Traffic Act Chapter Act Chapter 220. Additionally, one (1) person was cited for windows not of transparent glass contrary to Regulation 17(2) & 41 of the Road Traffic Speed Limit Regulation, of Chapter 220.
**POLICE ARREST MAN WITH BULLET PROOF VEST**
A 44 year old male of Armbrister Street, Fox Hill was arrested after being found in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana and a bullet proof vest.
According to police reports around 7:30 pm on Wednesday 27th June, 2012 Drug Enforcement Officers executed a search warrant on the suspect’s home and discovered the items. The drugs weighed two and a half (21/2) pounds and have an estimated street value of two thousand, five hundred dollars. Active police investigations continue.
**CENTRAL DIVISION ARREST SIX (6) MEN FOR DRUGS**
Six (6) men, ages 59, 36, 29, 25 and two age 42 years are in police custody after being found in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana.
Preliminary police reports indicate that around 6:30 pm on Wednesday 27th June, 2012 officers of the Central Division executed a search warrant on a home at Strachan’s Corner off East Street and discovered the drugs. Officers also discovered three (3) Marijuana plants ranging in heights from 1ft to 2ft. Active police investigations continue.
