On Saturday 02nd June, 2012 police issued a wanted bulletin for 25 year old REGINALD CHASE of MATTHEW STREET, NASSAU VILLAGE.
Police wish to inform that around 3:20 pm on Saturday 02nd June, 2012 officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) acting on information went to Bimini Avenue, off Market Street where they arrested the suspect without incident. Acting on additional information officers went to bushy area off Bimini Avenue where they recovered the police weapon. Active police investigations continue.
Chase was wanted for a shooting incident that reportedly occurred shortly after mid-night on Saturday 02nd June, 2012 and has left a police officer in hospital, in stable condition.
Preliminary reports indicate that a uniform officer was performing duties at the hospital when an incident occurred which resulted in the police officer being shot to the face and the suspect making good his escape with a police weapon.
