Police are investigating an alleged drowning incident which took place on Monday, February 11th, 2019 at Half Moon Cay.

According to authorities, shortly before 3:00pm, officers stationed at Half Moon Cay contacted the Rock Sound Police Station and reported that sometime around 2:35pm an adult Canadian male tourist, who was a passenger of a cruise ship, was discovered unresponsive, floating in waters off Half Moon Cay.

He was said to have been removed from the water and CPR rendered.  The unresponsive visitor was then transported to the Rock Sound clinic in South Eleuthera, where he was pronounced dead.  The body of the drowning victim was reported to have been flown into New Providence for postmortem.  Investigations are ongoing.
