Following up on an anonymous call during the afternoon on Friday, April 14th, 2017, Police came upon an accident in Rock Sound in the area of Coco Plum Restaurant, involving a Silver Honda Fit SD vehicle licence #SD 1428 with one male passenger clad in a green shirt and dark coloured pants appearing to be in a semi-conscious state.

According to authorities, initial investigation revealed that the victim may have lost control of the vehicle while traveling north on Queen’s Highway in the area of Coco Plum and collided into a utility pole.

The male, who was not known by the authorities in Eleuthera, was experiencing heavy bleeding from the left forehead, but breathing. He was transported to Rock Sound Clinic via ambulance with Dr. Smith, then airlifted to New Providence having sustained serious injuries, including a fractured skull and abdominal issues.

Police have urged motorists to be reminded that:

  1. The speed limit is still 45 mph on Queen’s Highway and 15 mph in the settlements.
  2. If the streets are not known – especially the curves, do not drive at night.
