(Nassau, Bahamas) – Two (2) separate shootings on Wednesday 22nd May, 2013 have resulted in the death of two (2) males. The first incident reportedly occurred shortly after 6:00 pm and resulted in the death of a 21 year old male of Excellence Estates. Preliminary reports indicate that the deceased was standing near a home in the Haitian Village when he was approached and subsequently shot to the upper body by a male. He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The second incident reportedly occurred around 9:44 pm at Cordeaux Avenue off East Street and resulted in the death of a 42 year old male. Preliminary reports indicate that the deceased was standing in front of a home on Cordeaux Avenue when he was approached by the occupants of a silver vehicle. It is reported that one of the males exited the vehicle and fired gunshots which resulted in the deceased being shot to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel.
Police are investigating and appealing to members of the public who may have any information regarding any of these incidents, or who may have information regarding persons who may be in possession of illegal firearms to contact police anonymously at 911, 919, 322-3333/4 or CRIME STOPPERS @ 328-TIPS.
