(Nassau, Bahamas) – Police are questioning five (5) males in connection with a shooting incident which has left two (2) males dead and three (3) others in hospital.

The initial incident reportedly occurred around 12:40 pm on Monday 20th May, 2013 at Kemp Road north of Bar 20 Corner and resulted in the death of a 40 year old man and a 17 year old juvenile male.

Preliminary reports indicate that one of the males was standing outside a residence when he was approached and subsequently shot multiple times, by two (2) men who exited a reportedly stolen, 2003 white Dodge Ram truck.

It is also reported that during the incident the juvenile male was shot multiple times by the two (2) culprits who fled the area south on Kemp Road, accompanied by three (3) males in the reportedly stolen truck.

A short while later, police received information that three (3) males were shot in the area of Mr. Pleasant Avenue off Kemp Road.

Preliminary reports indicate that the victims were sitting outside a business establishment on Mt. Pleasant Avenue along with others, when they were approached and subsequently shot multiple times by a group of males who fled the area in a white Dodge Ram truck.

The three (3) male’s ages, 56, 37 and 27 years were taken to hospital via private vehicle where they are detained in serious condition.

A short while later the truck was seen on Abundant Life Road by officers of the Mobile Division who pursued the truck into the Nassau Village where it crashed into a fence.
It is further reported that as the suspects exited the truck there was an exchange of gunfire between the police and the suspects, which resulted in one of the suspects, an 18 year old male being shot and a high powered weapon confiscated.

Acting on information police went to a residence off Taylor Street, Nassau Village where they arrested the suspects and confiscated a handgun. Active police investigations continue.
