Officers of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, Eleuthera Division, acting on a tip, searched a room at a vacation spot in Eleuthera Island Shores, just south of Gregory Town, around 3:20pm on Wednesday April 3rd, 2013 occupied by a 27-year-old man of Jacksonsvilla Florida, USA and found what they described as a small quantity of marijuana. The man was taken to Governor’s Harbour Police Station where he was processed and charged.

He appeared in court on Thursday morning, April 4th in Governor’s Harbour, and plead guilty to possession of dangerous drugs. Subsequently, he was given a conditional discharge, where he had to pay a $1,000 fine to the Police Welfare fund in lieu of sentencing. 

Payment was made, and according to officials, arrangements had been completed for him to leave the island on Thursday, April 4th, 2013.
