A 32-year old man is in custody after he was arrested for being in possession of a large amount of cash on Thursday 31st January 2013. According to Police reports, around 11:00am Officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, acting on information received, executed a search warrant at a residence in the Perpall Tract area and seized over two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000.00) in cash, suspected to be the proceeds of crime. The suspect was subsequently arrested and is assisting DEU officers with their investigations into this matter.
DRUG ENFORCEMENT OFFICER’S MAKE DRUG ARREST
A 51-year old man is in custody after he was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs on Thursday 31st January 2013. According to Police reports, around 12:30pm Drug Enforcement Unit Officers were on patrol on Pinewood Drive, Pinewood Gardens, where they conducted a search of the suspect and found a quantity of cocaine in his possession. The suspect was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
Investigations are ongoing.
MURDER SUSPECTS TO BE ARRAIGNED IN COURT
The following persons will be formally charged in the Magistrate’s Court for murder at 12:00noon on Friday 1st February 2013.
- A 38-year old male of Sumner Street, Nassau Village for the murder of Theodore Ash that occurred on Sunday 27th January 2013 north of Dean’s Lane.
- A 21-year old male of Toote Shop Corner, for the murder of Alfred Munroe that occurred on Saturday 26th January 2013 at Toote Shop Corner
POLICE REQUESTS PUBLIC’S HELP IN SOLVING SHOOTING INCIDENT
Police are requesting the public’s assistance in solving a shooting incident that has left two men aged 36 and 27 years detained in hospital.
According to Police reports, shortly after 6:00am on Thursday 31st January 2013 the victims were standing on Williams Lane off Kemp Road when the occupants of an unknown vehicle approached them, open fire on them and sped off. One of the victims sustained a gunshot wound to the buttocks and the other sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach. Both victims were transported to hospital where they are detained in serious condition.
Investigations are ongoing.
