Chief Immigration Officer in Eleuthera, Shema Darling, has a final word with the women before they board their plane for further processing in New Providence. 

(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – Three women of Jamaican nationality, ages 30, 41, and 42 were detained by Police in Rock Sound, Eleuthera on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016 and later handed over to Immigration. In reference to Immigration, the women were found to have overstayed their time allowed in the country; varying from 1 to 8 months.

On Wednesday afternoon, February 3rd,  they were transported to New Providence via Pineapple Air for further processing by officials in New Providence. 

The total number of illegal immigrants in Eleuthera taken into custody to date in 2016 now stands at 28 people.  In the past 6 months, 430 Haitians and 5 Americans have also been removed from the island for violating Immigration laws.
