On Tuesday 27th August, 2013, Immigration Officers along with members of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, acting on information received, conducted a search of a residence located at #271 Hawksbill Street, South Mall Freeport, Grand Bahama. 

At the site, the team discovered seventeen (17) suspected illegal migrants.  The migrants consisted of eleven (11) Indian Nationals and six (6) Haitian Nationals.  As the migrants were undocumented except two of the Indian Nationals, investigations to determine how they entered The Bahamas are on-going.  4

The migrants were transferred to Nassau, on 28th August, 2013 where they will be detained at the Detention Centre.
