Eleuthera, Bahamas – September is Basic Education and Literacy month on the Rotary and Rotaract calendar.  To do their part in promoting literacy and the importance of education, The Rotaract Club of Eleuthera decided to donate reading books to South Eleuthera Schools.

September 8th was International Literacy Day.  Rotaract member’s celebrated this day by going into the schools and reading to students. Rotaractors visited two primary schools, Tarpum Bay Primary School and Emma E. Cooper Primary School and one Preschool, Ms. Sherry Ann Preschool. 

Books were donated to: Deep Creek Primary School, Preston H. Albrury High School, Tarpum Bay Primary School and Ms. Sherry Ann Preschool.  Books were donated on behalf of The Rotaract Club of Eleuthera, The Rotary Club of Eleuthera and The Rotary Club of South East Nassau. 

Rotaract is a service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30 who are dedicated to community and international service.  They are looking to recruit other young professionals ages 18-30 who are aligned with the vision of “Fellowship through Service”.
