The Bahamas Government has commenced the process of developing a comprehensive and publicly-discussed, long-term development strategy in the form of a National Development Plan – Vision 2040.

This Plan will be the mechanism to:

(a) provide a fully integrated and inclusive overview of the current state of the nation;
(b) establish programs and policy direction for economic growth and development; and
(c) prioritize the national development objectives and Government programs to meet these objectives.

The National Development Planning Committee has commenced the critical diagnostic phase of the National Development Plan (NDP) project. In this phase they are currently gathering existing data and input from various stakeholders within the public and private sectors and civil society.
