(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – Ryan Rolle, of Preston H. Albury High School (PHAHS), is now Eleuthera’s new Jr. Minister of Tourism after emerging the victor, on Tuesday, March 5th, of the Speech Competition hosted by local Ministry of Tourism officials at the Cancer Society building in Palmetto Point.  Ryan was one of six competitors who participated from four of the six senior high schools in the Eleuthera District.

A visibly disappointed Kendisha Forbes, who came a very close second, also represented PHAHS .

Windermere High School’s (WHS) Nameka Forbes placed 3rd overall.

Central Eleuthera High School (CEHS) had two students in the race, Tatiana Knowles, and Cenize Louissaint while Harbour Island All Age (HIAAS) was represented by Lucy Pierre.

Judges commenting after the speech presentations, on the topic, “Tourism to the World, I am the Voice”, described Rolle’s delivery as one that provided vivid imagery, good vocal tone and excellent intonation as well as content.

This speech competition was  only one portion (60%) of the total points determining the overall winner for the island’s new Jr. Minister of Tourism. 40% was determined by an interview held with each of the participants prior to the March 5th contest.
