(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – Administrator Charles King, who most recently served on Eleuthera in the South Eleuthera District from July 2011, until the summer of 2012, will be returning to office here on the island after spending a stint on the island of Abaco during the latter half of 2012. Mr. King, was one of three Administrators, including Mr. Cephas Cooper and Mr. Don Cornish, who were transferred off the island in July 2012 with each having been here for no more than a year.
Administrator King, who hails from Cat Island, has had a career of over 35 years in Administration serving throughout the archipelago, with his first posting in Mayaguana. In 1985 he had his first assignment to Eleuthera, serving almost 4 years as Administrator in South Eleuthera.
Though he officially takes up his position as Senior Administrator in the Central Eleuthera District on Tuesday, March 12 he attended an informal handover meeting on Monday, March 4th, where he was introduced to local heads of government departments.
At the meeting, two new incoming heads of departments were also recognized. Jasmine Hudson, who arrived on island in late February, replaced Max Albury as Head of Customs on island. Also, Cassandra Knowles was introduced by current island Head of National Insurance, Frederick Seymour, as his incoming replacement at the end of March 2013.
Administrator Margaret Symonette, who has served in both Central and South Eleuthera, since September 2012, will now continue to serve as Administrator for the South Eleuthera District.
