The 1st Annual Back to Da Cay Regatta, held on Cupid’s Cay, heralded the return of regatta action in Governor’s Harbour, after more than a decade. Daytime sailing on the Saturday and Sunday, during the Majority Rule holiday weekend, on January 10th and 11th, saw C and E class boats, as well as Optimist races take place in the waters off of the bayfront.
Sailing participants were expected to come in from a number of islands, with boats out of Acklins, Mayaguana, Exuma, Long Island, Andros, Grand Bahama, New Providence, and Eleuthera.
Top billed Bahamian performing artists were also in the night time lineup during the weekend’s evening entertainment at ‘Back to Da Cay’ Regatta – artists, KB, Jonny Cake, Blaudy, Mama D, L. Polly, and Fanshawn, taking to the stage, in front of a packed audience. ‘Back to Da Cay’ was hosted from Thursday, January 8th until Monday, January 12th, 2026.
