WARNINGS:
A Near Gale Warning (28-33 knots) remains in effect for Inagua and the southern territorial waters of the Southeast Bahamas, including the Windward Passage. Mariners, especially small craft mariners, are advised not to venture too far from port and refrain from entering the southern territorial waters of the islands (south of Inagua and the Turks and Caicos Islands).
Marine Heat Advisory: Mariners are advised that high heat indices (above 105°F/40.5°C) are expected across the waters of The Bahamas. Prolonged exposure to the sun and hot conditions may increase the risk of heat-related illnesses. Stay hydrated, limit strenuous activity, seek shade when possible, and monitor crew members and passengers for signs of heat stress.
Rip Currents: There is a high risk of rip currents for the east and southeastern Atlantic coasts of the Central Bahamas, and all area waters of the Southeast Bahamas including the southern territorial waters. Swimmers are strongly advised to stay on shore.
Tidal Levels: Due to the approaching Super New Moon on Tuesday (14th July), mariners are urged to proceed with caution while traversing shallow areas during low tide due to the heightened risk of running aground during low tide.
GENERAL SITUATION:
The waters south of Inagua and the Turks and Caicos Islands will remain locally rough and choppy as a result of a locally strong wind regime, with the majority of the territorial waters remaining benign as a result of a weakening surface ridge. Building high pressure and Saharan Dust will dominate the majority of the region, promoting a hazy and generally uneventful weather pattern. Area waters of the northern Bahamas may experience showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening hours. Expect gusty winds and reduced visibility in these cells through tonight.
OUTLOOK:
Expect current sea conditions to remain unchanged through to midweek, as high pressure continues to dominate the prevailing weather pattern. Slightly higher rain chances may be possible on Tuesday and Wednesday, as a tropical wave passes well south of the Bahamas.
NORTHERN BAHAMAS (INCLUDING GRAND BAHAMA, ABACO, BIMINI & ADJACENT WATERS):
ADVISORY: None. Expect gusty winds and higher seas in or near heavy showers and thunderstorms.
WINDS: East-southeast to south-southeast at 10 to 15 knots, falling light and variable at times.
LOCAL SEAS: Less than 2 feet in sheltered waters. 2 to 4 feet in Atlantic waters and the Gulf Stream.
SWELLS: No significant swells on the Atlantic waters.
WEATHER: 20 – 30% chance of showers with thunderstorms.
NORTHWEST BAHAMAS (INCLUDING NEW PROVIDENCE, ANDROS, THE BERRY ISLANDS, ELEUTHERA & ADJACENT WATERS):

LOCAL SEAS: Less than 2 feet in sheltered waters. 2 to 4 feet in Atlantic waters.
SWELLS: No significant swells on the Atlantic waters.

LOCAL SEAS: 2 to 3 feet in sheltered nearshore waters. 3 to 5 feet in sheltered offshore waters. 4 to 6 feet in Atlantic waters. 5 to 8 feet, subsiding 4 to 7 feet by nightfall in waters south of Inagua.
