WARNINGS:
Rip Currents: A slight to moderate risk of rip currents exists along Atlantic-exposed beaches of the island chain. Beachgoers should exercise caution when entering the water. Saharan Dust: Due to the presence of Saharan Dust across the Southeastern islands, air quality will be reduced to moderate levels therefore, those sensitive to allergens or dust particles should take the necessary precautions.
GENERAL SITUATION:
A strengthening high-pressure ridge across the island chain will support gentle to moderate breezes, hot temperatures, and generally stable weather conditions. However, pockets of streaming moisture will continue to generate isolated shower activity across the area. A thin layer of Saharan dust will linger across the Southern islands producing hazy skies.
OUTLOOK:
No significant changes are expected in the forecast through the remainder of the work week as high pressure continues to dominate the weather pattern. Expect hot temperatures, gentle breezes, and generally stable conditions, which will help limit shower activity across the islands. By Saturday, shower and thunderstorm chances are expected to increase across the southern islands as a trough and its associated moisture move northward into the area. This pattern will support increased shower and thunderstorm activity across portions of the Southeastern islands throughout the weekend.
