Police during the early hours of Thursday morning, 29th, August 2013, arrested a 56-year-old man in Governor’s Harbour for for possession of dangerous drugs. No more details were released.

**FIVE (5) MORE SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN MAJOR ANDROS DRUG BUST**
Five (5) men ages 56, 49, 37, 36, and 29 years old are in police custody after they were arrested in connection with a major drug seizure in Andros. According to reports, the five suspects were taken into custody on Wednesday 28th August 2013, after police confiscated over fifteen hundred (1500) pounds of marijuana on that Island. This arrest is connected to the drug seizure in Andros that occurred on Tuesday 27th August 2013.
The suspects along with the drugs have all been transported to New Providence. Investigations are ongoing.

**TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT OFFICERS CONDUCT “OPERATION j  SUMMER BLITZ” **(NASSAU)
In keeping with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan 2013, priority # 4 “Enforcing the Rules of the Road,” Insp. H. Williams and a team of officers from the Traffic Department conducted a police operation throughout New Providence, between 8:00 am and 6:00pm on Wednesday 28th August 2013.

The operation resulted in the following:

  • One (1) Stolen vehicles recovered
  • One (1) arrest for possession of dangerous drugs
  • Twenty (20) persons arrested for outstanding warrants
  • One hundred and twenty (120) citations for various traffic infractions


**POLICE REQUEST PUBLIC’S ASSISTANCE IN SOLVING ASHOOTING INCIDENT**
(NASSAU)
Police are requesting the public’s assistance in solving a shooting incident that has left a 34-year old male detained in hospital on Wednesday 28th August 2013. According to reports, shortly after 11:00pm, the victim was walking towards his residents located on Andros Avenue, when two men approached him, shot him about the body and fled on foot. The victim was taken to hospital where he is detained in serious condition.
Investigations are ongoing.

**POLICE INVESTIGATES TRAFFIC INCIDENT**
Police are investigating a traffic incident that has left a 26-year old man detained in hospital on Thursday 29th August 2013. According to reports, around 12:15am, the victim was driving his 2004 wrangler jeep west on West Bay Street in the area of Sandy Port, when he lost control and collided into a utility pole. The vehicle overturned and the victim was ejected from the vehicle resulting in him receiving serious injuries to the head. The victim was taken to hospital
where he is detained in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.
