POLICE INVESTIGATE TWO TRAFFIC FATALITIES

Police are investigating two separate traffic accidents that has left two males dead on Wednesday 1st December 2014. In the first incident, shortly after 7:00am, a 56 – year old man was driving his Chevrolet vehicle in an easterly direction on Prince Charles Drive in the area of Elizabeth Estates, when he struck a man who was
walking along the same route. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

In the second incident, shortly after 7:00pm, a Nissan Laurel vehicle and a Mercedes Benz vehicle were travelling east on JFK Drive when they collided with each other resulting in both vehicles losing control and careening into the nearby bushes. The driver of the Nissan vehicle succumbed to his injuries on the scene and his two-female passengers along with the female driver of the Mercedes Benz were transported to hospital and treated for injuries received.

Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN LATEST HOMICIDE

Police are requesting the public’s help in solving a shooting incident that has left one man dead and another detained in hospital on Wednesday 1st January 2014. According to reports, shortly after 7:00pm, the deceased along with another man was sitting down in front of an apartment complex on Buttonwood Avenue, Pinewood Gardens, when the occupants of a vehicle pulled up and fired several shots at them before speeding off. The deceased received multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other man was transported to hospital where he is detained in stable condition for a gunshot to the leg.

Two additional shootings.

  • Around 2:00am on Wednesday 1st January 2014 a man was sitting on a vehicle on Hospital Lane, when a man armed with a handgun approached him and shot him several times before fleeing on foot. The victim was taken to hospital via private vehicle where he later succumbed to his injuries.
  • Around 4:35am on Wednesday 1st January 2014, the victim was walking behind a building located off East Bay Street, when a male in a white Honda vehicle fired several shots at him, hitting him in the leg and abdomen before fleeing on foot. The victim was taken to hospital where he is detained in serious condition.
