The Glass Window Bridge was officially re-opened and the ALL-CLEAR given at 7:30am on Sunday morning, November 10th, 2019.

The Eleuthera Division of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, released the following statement on Saturday afternoon, November 9th, 2019, warning motorists that the Glass Window Bridge, just north of Gregory Town, would be closed due to deteriorating weather.  It reads as follows:

“Officials on the island of Eleuthera wishes to inform motorists and other road users that the Glass Window Bridge will be officially CLOSED effective at 5pm, on Saturday, November 9th, 2019, due to deteriorating weather conditions and strong sea surge.

Officials will continue to monitor the weather conditions and give updates as necessary.  The Bridge will re-open only when the weather permits.

Please stay away from the area of the Bridge until the All-Clear is given.”
