Nassau, The Bahamas – ALIV, The Bahamas’ newest mobile network, is pleased to announce the opening of two retail stores on the island of Eleuthera. On Monday, March 27th, 2017 an ALIV retail store opened in Spanish Wells and another in Governor’s Harbour. Official grand openings are scheduled for both locations on April 1.
At a press conference recently Damian Blackburn, Chief ALIV Officer, said, “Our company remains committed to quickly delivering on its mandate to provide superior products and services in The Bahamas. As a result, ALIV has met the URCA requirement for 99% coverage 2 months ahead of time on this island. With two LTE networks that deliver super-fast speeds, crystal clear calls and reliable service, we were able to capture 28 per cent of the available prepaid market. We are also proud to have more than 50,000 subscribers to date.
These results are due to critical steps that were taken to ensure financial viability. We have received a total funding of $135 million from shareholders and have invested $120 million in our network system and infrastructure. We have also secured significant vendor financing from our technology partner, Huawei. This funding is in excess of $30 million dollars.”
ALIV currently has retail stores and authorized dealers on the islands of New Providence, Grand Bahama, Abaco and Eleuthera, and currently a total of 135 live sites throughout these islands. Out of the 135 live sites 16 sites are in Eleuthera. Coverage on the ALIV network in Eleuthera spans from Spanish Wells in the north to Princess Cay in the south.
