Eleuthera Baseball Association Hosts ‘Back to Da Park’

Members of the Eleuthera Baseball Association (EBA), currently led by president Rodney Pinder Jr., in cooperation with the ‘Twin City Legends’ headed back to the Twin City Park in Palmetto Point on Saturday afternoon, March 21st, hosting an afternoon of fun baseball games and practice sessions for children of all ages, and adult slow pitch games during the early evening.

Mr. Eline Sineus, a dedicated EBA member, and past leader, commenting on behalf of president Pinder on Saturday afternoon, acknowledged that the youth baseball league has been dormant during the past 18 months, since the end of the junior league season run in mid-2024.

“We are trying our best to bring it back, and to keep it going,” said Mr. Sineus, highlighting the impactful role youth baseball has played in the lives of many children throughout Eleuthera, by providing a healthy activity, keeping them “out of trouble and occupied.”

He shared a concern about the lack of support, including from parents, which he said was necessary to get the junior baseball league up and running once again. The afternoon baseball fun and games on the Saturday, he explained, were all about getting people out to the park. “We’re doing this drive today to try to bring as many people out as possible… We have about 20 children and teens out here, so I think that’s encouraging… The main objective is to get to see how many children we have, and to try to involve the parents and solicit help moving forward.”

A number of parents did come out with their children to take in the afternoon’s “Back to Da Park” at Twin City. Families were able to enjoy free food and drinks, while taking part in and watching their children get in practice sessions, as well as a number of friendly games – as the EBA assessed the level of interest in rejuvenating the junior baseball league in 2026.
