A new promotional video filmed at Turtle Lake, Eleuthera has been released, Edwin’s Turtle Lake Marine Reserve, LLC announced today. The video, produced by Behind the Mask, show-cases the beauty of the lake and surrounding mangroves with aerial photography. “We commissioned the video as a means to show the world just how special Turtle Lake is from both environmental and cultural perspectives”, said the Reserve’s Director, James Burrows. The 3 minute video shows the 43 acre lake through unique videography from the sky and underwater, while telling the story of its founder and namesake, the visionary Mr. Edwin Burrows, who passed away in 1982.
The release of the video marks the first 6 months of operation of Edwin’s Turtle Lake Marine Reserve, which was created to celebrate and protect the lake’s environment and support sustainable business by offering kayak, paddle board and canoe rentals for locals and tourists alike. In addition, the Reserve supports scientific research, and recently partnered with the Cape Eleuthera Institute on a comprehensive research agenda on the lake’s sea turtles, fish, lush mangroves and general ecology.
