(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – At about 11:00am on Wednesday 3 June 2015, an adult female contacted the Governors Harbour Police station by telephone and reported that she received Information that a dead body was discovered on a farm in James Cistern.
Officers visited the scene which is a Farm just west of James Cistern where they were led to a small wooden shack. Inside the one room structure was the partially decomposing body of a slim dark skinned elderly male clad only in a teal colored short sleeve shirt, lying on a bed, on his back, with his head in an eastern direction.
Nurse Cambridge, attending medical Officer was on scene and reported that the decease had no medical history in the District. The Cause of Death and the manner of Death are undetermined.
Officers examined the deceased and found there were no signs of Unnatural Bruising or Trauma about the body other than those related to decomposition. There was no evidence from the body or the scene to suggest foul play.
Officers also spoke with an adult male who reported that he went to the Farm sometime around 10:45am on 3/6/15 to visit a friend he knows as “Palo” as he normally does. Upon his arrival to the Farm he shouted out for his Friend but got no reply. He then approached the shack and he saw his friend “Palo” lying partially decomposed. He then went to the James Cistern Clinic and informed Nurse Cambridge. The Officer also spoke with a female relative of the deceased who stated that she didn’t see him for several weeks but he did not have any known illness. The body was later removed and transported to New Providence for autopsy.
