(Eleuthera,  Bahamas) – For most of Wednesday June 3rd, a team of police and immigration officers canvassed a rugged part of South Eleuthera, between Bannerman Town and the coast in the Lighthouse Beach area, searching for an unknown number of suspected Haitian illegal immigrants who have again landed on the island. The wrecked vessel was spotted on Wednesday morning, and for a number of hours authorities had not found anyone but by about 9:30pm, a total of 33 suspected illegal immigrants had been apprehended. The group included, 12 female adults, 15 male adults, 2 female children and 4 male boys, with the numbers expected to grow during the rain drenched night. 

On Monday a small vessel carrying an unknown number of illegal immigrants landed on the north coast of Windermere Island. More than two dozen suspected illegal immigrants have been apprehended since that landing. The number missed remains unknown.
