(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – The victim of an attempted armed robbery, on Monday, March 9th, in Tarpum Bay, reported to police that sometime around 9:40pm, he had arrived home and was sitting inside his vehicle, about to exit when he was accosted by a male wearing a mask and brandishing a pistol demanding cash from him. Fearing for his life, the victim fled west on Park Street by foot and was pursued by the armed assailant who caught up with him a short distance away. A struggle reportedly ensued and the attacker pointed the weapon at the victim’s head and fired two (2) shots at him. The victim reported then feeling a burning sensation at the top of his head above his forehead. The gun wielding male culprit fled east along Park Street. He is described as being short, medium built and of dark complexion.
The victim called police, who responded to the Tarpum Bay clinic where according to their reports, the victim was seen with a small laceration to the forehead. He was seen and treated by medical personnel and his injury was described as not serious or life threatening. Police say investigations are ongoing.
