(Nassau, Bahamas) – On Friday night at the 2015 National track and Field championships in New Providence, two Preston Albury High School boys teams competed in the 4×100 m dash relay finals – the U14 boys and the U16 boys. The U18 boys team unfortunately, did not make the final cut, contrary to what was previously reported based on an announcement by team coaches.

On the track, the U14 team came close to medalling, but fell just shy with a 4th place finish.

PHAHS  Bronze?- The U16 boys team met the competition head on, steaming to the finish line and appeared to pull off a silver medal finish in the national 4x100m dash relay final. The result posted on the board had the South Eleuthera team in second, however on Saturday officials said a review showed they had come third by one hundredth of a second. Coach Kennard Mackey of PHAHS said on Saturday that he was protesting the result. He later confirmed that the photo finish showed the chest of Nassau Christian Academy touchng the finish line just before PHAHS.

The PHAHS U16 boys also ran in the 4x400m finals on Saturday. They did not finish in the top 3.

CEHS girls – The Central Eleuthera High School (CEHS) U20 4x100m girls team also made the finals and finished 7th overall.

GOLD for former NEHS Student Keianna Albury

Eleuthera girls now attending Saint Augustine’s College in New Providence – Donneisha Anderson and Keianna Albury – faced off in the U20 girls 200m finals on Friday.

Keianna, a former student of North Eleutheran High School (NEHS) and native of Lower Bogue was victorious, snatching up the gold medal in that event. Keianna shared in a brief interview that her sights are now set on Carifta, where she expects to compete in both the 100m and the 200m races.
