The owners of a 2001 115 HP Johnson outboard motor, which was stolen in December 2014 or January 2015 from a boat located on Knowles Drive, are pleased to report that, acting on a tip, police were able to recover the motor. Police confiscated a small boat in Governor’s Harbour that appeared to have the freshly painted motor attached which is believed to be the one that went missing. Investigations are ongoing.

The owners of the missing motor were thankful for the information being posted in The Eleutheran, saying, ” The information published in The Eleutheran was instrumental in recovery of the stolen motor.”

The stolen motor was a heartbreaking loss for the owners who had shared that they had spent years in the heat and mosquitoes fixing up the boat and installing new hardware and a great motor. They said that they had gone fishing a few times, then some persons cut all the lines and stole the motor.
