(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – SLS3 – a California-based manufacturer of quality sports apparel, tri-suits and compression wear – has inked a $1500 sponsorship deal with Gregory Town’s Pineappleman Sprint Triathlon.
Vanessa Evans, an executive assistant at the company said, “The staff of SLS3 are all active multisport athletes…one thing we all love are races that are different and fun. The name “Pineappleman” caught our attention immediately and when we delved into the event further, it proved to be a race that lived up to its spirited title. We are all excited to be able to get involved with the event this year.”
The generous first-time sponsorship will be presented in the form of gift certificates, which race and age group winners can redeem for discounts when shopping online.
“The way VAT is going, more of us may be shopping stateside,” said race director Tom Glucksmann. “So you can cash the certificate in and get some nice gear. It’s another prize and incentive we’re always proud to offer to get more people competing.”
Each race packet, given to all registered racers, will also include an SLS3 gift certificate, while quantities last. Last year Think Simple, Island Made Gift Shop, Rainbow Inn and Sands Beer were major sponsors. Pineapple Fields and The Cove Resort also offered a race rate on their rooms.
The Pineappleman triathlon began in the 1980s; it was and is a staple event on the annual Pineapple Festival schedule. Zion Children’s Home of Current Island will receive proceeds from the event. Registration for the June 6 race day, which will also include a 5k fun run/walk and 400-meter junior road race, is now open at www.active.com. Contact Glucksmann at 335-0349.
