Update  (October 8th, 2014): Police say investigations are continuing into the Armed Robbery at the Fish Fry on October 4th. The young man taken into custody from Palmetto Point on the same date has been charged for possession of dangerous drugs, for a small quantity found in his possession at the time of the arrest.  He appeared in magistrate court on Wednesday, October 8th, and was released on bail.  He was not charged in relation to the Armed Robbery.

(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – On Saturday 4th October 2014 sometime around 1:05am a 59yr old male contacted Governor’s Harbour Police Station (G.H.P.S.) and reported that while closing the stall at Fish Fry, Governor’s Harbour he and his wife were approached by a lone unmasked male who produced a black handgun and robbed him of a sum of cash the property of G.H.D.A. He further stated that the gunman also robbed him and his wife of their Samsung Galaxy S5 cell phones valued at about $600.00 each.

Officers from the Governor’s Harbour Police station went to the area of Cupid’s Cay, just west of Fish Fry, Governor’s Harbour and saw and spoke with both victims; they were taken to the G.H.P.S. for further investigation. The officers made a check of the area for the suspect but without any success in locating him.

Police later that day executed a search warrant on the residence of a 22yr old male of South Palmetto Point. who was subsequently arrested and cautioned in reference to Armed Robbery and Possession of Dangerous Drugs. He remains in police custody.  Investigations are ongoing.
