(Nassau, Bahamas) – The House of Assembly of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas will on Monday, October 6th, 2014 debate a resolution for the Treasurer to transfer land in Palmetto Point to the National Insurance Board (NIB) for the purpose of constructing a hospital for the island of Eleuthera, according to a communication forwarded by Minister of State for Legal Affairs and MP for Central and South Eleuthera, Damian Gomez on Saturday, October 4th.
The debate and subsequent expected approval of the resolution will, according to Mr. Gomez, “…pave the way for the beginning of construction work to fulfill a sacred election pledge.”
“It is hoped that the hospital will be opened in 2016 when the National Health Insurance regime will be implemented”, MP Gomez added.
