(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – Police on Saturday afternoon, July 12th, 2014 escorted the only man, currently suspected as being responsible for the brutal slaying of Hayward Anthony Thompson (18) of Palmetto Point out of Eleuthera and to the capital where he is expected to soon appear in court.
The accused, Rex Rahming (22) also of Palmetto Point, was reportedly seen moving about the town the day the deceased was discovered on Sunday July 6th, but by the time the detectives began to focus on him, he had fled.
He was captured in Hatchet Bay 3 days later in the vicinity of the Packing House, where he had been spotted by someone who alerted police shortly before 7pm. Police responded and a foot chase ensued and at about 7:20pm on Wednesday July 9th, 2014 he was taken into custody.

Since being apprehended he had been housed in the station in Governor’s Harbour.
Accompanied by four Officers, the accused was flown into New Providence aboard Bahamasair. OIC of the Eleuthera District, Supt. Ismella Davis escorted the accused to the aircraft.
Rahming is said to be a cousin of the deceased and is also is said to be no stranger to the law.
The aircraft, carrying Rahming left Governor’s Harbour around 5:20pm on Saturday July 12th, 2014
