Family and friends of 28 year old Ryan McCardy and 31 year old Johnson Blanc, on Monday May 5th, 2014, visited the beach in Hatchet Bay, where exactly one year ago, the two men, went missing, after the fishing boat they were on capsized on its way out to sea. The groups visited, ‘Unit 2’ beach on the Atlantic Side of Hatchet Bay to commemorate the tragic event.

Jennifer Glenn, a friend of the McCardy family commissioned a custom titanium plaque with the likenesses of Ryan and Johnson, which was erected at the beach in memory of the two young men, who lost their lives one year ago.

Ryan’s older sister, commenting on her experience and the memory she holds dear of her brother, said, “Today made a year already Ryan and there is not a day that I don’t think of you, you are truly missed by family and friends. Thankful to God for he is indeed my strength, strength like no other. Thanks to a really good friend of Ryan, Mrs. Jennifer Glenn who got the plaque made in titanium and personally brought it from Connecticut so it can be here for today. It was solemn being out there at the beach one year later but Ryan will forever be in our hearts!”
