(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – Family and friends throughout the community are tonight grieving the loss of ‘Pachino’ Simmons, a popular, vibrant young man, who died tragically in an accident  during the early evening hours of Thursday, April 17th, 2014.

29 year old ‘Pacino’ Simmons was pronounced dead around 7:30pm at the Levy Medical Clinic in Governor’s Harbour, where he was being assisted by medical personnel, after colliding with a vehicle while driving his motorcycle on Queen’s Highway. 

The incident which occurred shortly after 6pm took place near the center of Governor’s Harbour, in front of the Burrows Grocery Store.  Police are actively investigating the events surrounding the accident.

The immediate family of young Simmons were surrounded by friends and family at the Clinic as they dealt with the news of his passing.

Update 12:40am April 18th 2014. The RBPF released the following information on the accident.

The Synopsis:  According to reports, shortly after 6:00pm, the deceased (a young man) was traveling south on Queens Highway, Governors Harbour, on a red and white Honda ER 650 trail motorcycle, when he lost control and crash into the rear of a white 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV driven by a 42 – year old man traveling along the same route. The motorcyclist was rushed to the local clinic in critical condition where he was pronounced dead. Investigations are ongoing.
