(Eleuthera, Bahamas) A RBPF press release on Monday morning August 5th, 2013 caught the attention of the news desk at The Eleutheran, in that it identified Harbour Island as the location of an armed robbery that involved a stolen vehicle. Police in Eleuthera responded quickly to our inquiries confirming that the incident did not occur in Harbour Island and subsequently an official ‘amended release’ from the RBPF was issued.
The early morning release, in part, stated; “… police at Harbour Island are searching for two (2) men who robbed a female of her 1998 Honda Accord. According to reports around 6:50 pm on Saturday 3rd August, 2013 the female was exiting her 1998 Honda Accord at Harbour Island Drive, when she was approached and subsequently robbed of her vehicle, by the armed men.”
The amendment issued on Monday afternoon stated:
**AMENDMENT: ARMED ROBBERY HARBOUR ISLAND**
On Monday 5th August, 2013 around 6:00 am police issued a press release which indicated that an armed robbery occurred at Harbour Island. The release indicated that around 6:50 am on Saturday 3rd August, 2013 a female was exiting her 1998 Honda Accord at Harbour Island Drive, when she was approached and subsequently robbed of her vehicle, by two (2) armed men.
Police wish to inform that the armed robbery did not occur at Harbour Island but rather at Allen Drive, Carmichael Road (New Providence) around 5:45 am on Sunday 4th August, 2013.
